When I went to Melbourne, Australia in 2008 the highlight of my visit was discovering the Victoria Tapestry Workshop. They dye their wool in-house (a job I've coveted ever since) and create massive tapestries (sometimes meters in length and width) often based on abstract paintings.
I had first encountered four of these pieces hanging in the National Gallery in Melbourne. They were the most painterly works of art I had ever seen...except for actual paintings.
So, here is my humble first attempt at translating an original painting from 2015 to cross stitch in homage to the now Australia Tapestry Workshop.
